How to Enhance Your Creativity: There are many ways that people can get creative, but one of the main things I want to ask you is, what is holding you back? What excuses are you telling yourself? Is it that you are too lazy? Don't have enough time, or don't feel like you are talented enough? Figure out what is holding you back and then replace all those lies with new truths. Let's be honest, if we are really wanting to do something, we can make time for it. For me, I find it helps to have a morning routine. I give myself ten minutes for reading my Bible, playing mind games (creating a puzzle, a brain app on the phone), and ten minutes to learn something new. Then, I go for a walk, do some yoga and whatever else I have planned. Creating art can be part of your morning routine. It is important for us to make time for art because it can change our mood, help us to express ourselves and it is our voice to the world. So, if not having enough time was one of your excuses for not creating, you can design for yourself a morning routine. Time management is key. Once you discover some new truths, that you can make time and you are capable, creating a vision board will help to guide you on your journey. What is the purpose for your creating? Why do you want to create? These are the things to focus on. Having a purpose will help to fuel your creative drive. Then, find some meaningful pictures, that show your goals and desires for your art to put onto your vision board. You can include some words, but I wouldn't have too much. You don't want it to be something that gets too cluttered; keep it simple. You want to be able to look at it and be able to tell right away what your goals are. Last, but not least, start creating! It doesn't matter what it is or what it looks like, if you have an idea or not. Start putting that pencil to paper and see what happens. Turn on some music to inspire you, get you hyped up or spend some time out in nature. Find what works for you and just have fun playing! Try out some new materials like charcoal, watercolor, clay, etc. Remember what it was like to be a kid learning these things for the first time and just exploring the possibilities! Try and see if you can recreate that moment. If all else fails, then just start with spiraling on a piece of paper, doing some loopy loops until something comes to you. Challenge yourself to draw something in front of you or with your opposite hand. Play some brain games. Draw something in front of you upside down on your paper. Look at something for one minute and see if you can redraw it on your page. Try creating something using only your feet. There are endless possibilities! Don't let all these little lies stop you from creating! You will never know what you can become if you hide away in the shadow of a lie.
